Iceland has launched a new 35-product HOME cleaning product range in a bid to rival retailers across the high street.

It joins Asda, Lidl, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi which all have own-brand cleaning ranges.

Iceland’s range features original and lemon washing up liquid for 75p while customers can pick up tropical blossom toilet rim blocks for £1.

Shoppers can also choose from dishcloths for a quid, tropical lily laundry liquid bio for £2 and heavy duty refuse bags for the same price.

Some of the new range of products can be bought as part of a two for £3.50 deal too, including zip bags, caddy liners and cling film.

Andrew Staniland, group buying director at Iceland Foods and The Food Warehouse, said it was the first time the retailer had launched its own-brand range of cleaning products.

All of the new cleaning products are available to buy online and at Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores nationwide on a permanent basis.

The Food Warehouse is part of the Iceland Foods Group.

Shopping discounts – How to make savings and find the best bargains

Of course, when buying anything from your local supermarket, make sure you shop around to ensure you’re getting the best deal.

Websites like Trolley and Price Spy let you compare prices on thousands of products across different retailers to see which has the best price.

You can always do a quick scan on the Google Product/Shopping tab to see what retailers are selling a similar-style product for too.

We had a quick look to see how Iceland’s new range compares to other chains, and you can actually get some similar items for less elsewhere.

For example, Tesco and Asda’s own-brand 500ml sizes of original washing up liquid sell for 69p – 6p cheaper than Iceland’s.

Meanwhile, Aldi stocks all purpose cleaner for 95p compared to Iceland’s which is £1.

Aldi’s 75m cling film is on sale for £1.75 too, 25p cheaper than Iceland’s 70m which is selling for £2.

How to save money at Iceland

If you’re looking to save money on your next shop, it’s worth snapping up certain items.

That’s according to shopping expert Andy Barr, who previously told The Sun to look out for big-name brands and dupes where you can make decent savings.

That means buying products that you can snap up from chains such as Greggs and TGI Fridays but for much less.

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.

He also said it’s worth keeping an eye out for frozen meat and ice cream.

It’s worth signing up for Iceland’s Bonus Card loyalty scheme as well.

You can download it for free off Google Play or Apple App Store on to your smartphone.

Shoppers get £1 free for every £20 they add to the card, can win prizes and get discounts off certain products too.
