10. His Brother William Signed Two Year Contract With Paramatta Eels
Following the completion of his Mormon mission, William Hopoate signed a two-year contract with the Parramatta Eels in October 2011.
He agreed to re-sign with the Eels on a three-year contract in April 2015, however the agreement was not recognized due to legal complications, and Hopoate was released.
Hopoate filed a lawsuit against The Parramatta Eels in 2016 and requested that a judge give him $1.83 million in damages. On October 29, 2016, the parties agreed to a $400,000 settlement.
