A WETHERSPOON customer has spotted a major change to certain items on the menu due to mass egg shortages.
Britain’s most popular pub chain is blaming the “temporary supply issues” on the current impact of Avian flu on egg production.

Egg shortages are writhe among supermarkets and restaurants as the country faces major supply issues.
It comes after The Sun exclusively revealed shops were preparing for scarcity due to a bird flu outbreak as well as the impact the summer heatwave had on birds.
More recently, Wetherspoon revealed its customers would be met with menu substitutions in branches where eggs were unavailable.
The chain confirmed the following meals will be affected, along with the items fried eggs will be swapped out for:
- All relevant breakfast meals – extra hash brown instead
- 5oz and 10oz gammon meals – extra tomato and mushroom
- All-day brunch and all-day vegetarian brunch – extra sausage
- Large mixed grill – extra onion rings
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We can confirm that there are temporary issues with egg supplies at some Wetherspoon pubs, due to the current national shortage of eggs.
“We are experiencing issues in receiving all the supplies we require to satisfy demand in every pub.
“This is not specific to Wetherspoon and other hospitality operators and supermarkets are facing similar issues.

“At the pubs concerned, customers are being offered alternative items, for example, hash brown, sausage or onion rings where eggs are unavailable.
“We apologise to customers for any inconvenience.”
It comes as Tesco most recently joined Asda and Lidl in rationing egg supplies.
Customers at Britain’s biggest supermarket can now only buy a maximum of three boxes of eggs due to supply issues.
Last week, Asda shoppers in Coryton, Wales, spotted signs in the aisles limiting the number of eggs people can buy, Wales Online reports
Asda confirmed to The Sun that shoppers can only purchase two packs of eggs each at all its 630 stores across the country.
Customers also noticed signs posted at one Lidl store warning customers they can only buy three each.
The Lidl notice reads: “Let’s keep enough for everyone.
“Eggs are limited to three units per customer to ensure that everyone has the essentials they need.”
Meanwhile, Sainsbury’s has warned customers that they are having supply issues, but they have no intention to ration egg sales.
In other news, Wetherspoon has confirmed it will be playing every World Cup match at all 850 of its branches – unless they don’t have screens.
But do note you can’t book a table in order to watch – and the games will be muted.
