A FAMILY have completed a stunning renovation of a home just four months after they bought it in a state of ruin.
John Badkin completely overhauled the Sheffield property with the help of his step-dad Mark and friend Matthew after buying it at auction for £142,000.

They decided to snap it up after John’s wife, Joanne, showed him The Sun’s article about the house in need of a makeover on Facebook.
Being plumbers, Mark and John did all the work themselves, with help from Matthew and the family, and spent around £20k on the project.
Given the relatively low refurb cost they’ve made a whopping profit, with the house now valued at £225,000.
When The Sun wrote about it in January, the property was in a terrible state with debris and dirt everywhere.

Now the property has been completely transformed, with a deep clean and fresh paint giving a light and airy look.
The kitchen, which was previously caked in grime and horribly cluttered is now a beautiful open plan space with a brand new electric hob and sleek oven unit.
Marble counter tops and a matte black finish complete the look.
The living room, which now actually looks fit to live in, forms the other half of the main space and receives loads of natural light from the garden.
Speaking of which the garden itself has been cleaned up and cut back, with brand new decking overlooking a neat and healthy lawn.
Out front, there is a polished wooden entranceway which presents a welcoming image for visitors, while upstairs the bedrooms are unrecognisable and, again, flooded with light.
John said that it was now a “new house” and that they had all enjoyed their first project together.
He added that the results were “phenomenal” for the price they paid.
They are planning to sell the house straight away after it was valued at [valuation tomorrow] and plan to take on another project next year.

The group plan to sell that on too, unless there’s a dip in the market, in which case they will rent it out.
John said his aim is to buy some land and build a house from scratch in the next few years.
