Similarities Between Davido And D’banj Son Death

Ifeanyi’s passing, which has left Nigerians still grieving, is tragically reminiscent of the passing in 2018 of Dapo Oyebanji, popularly known as D’banj’s kid.

There are some odd similarities between the two deaths, which leads many people to feel that Ifeanyi’s death could have been prevented because his parents could have learned from what happened to D’banj.

1. Both are the sons of famous musicians who are at the height of their popularity and profession.

2. The children were their parents’ only sons.

3. Prior to their terrible deaths, they had just celebrated their birthdays.

4. Both passed away at an early age. Davido’s son was three years old, while D’banj’s son was only a year old.

5. When the tragic events occurred, none of the fathers were at home. Davido and his wife Chioma traveled to Ibadan for a family reunion while D’banj was in the US to accept an award.

6. Both of the two sons drowned in the swimming pools at their parents’ homes.

7. Both parents reside in affluent regions of the island due to their celebrity status. While Davido’s son passed away on Banana Island, D’banj’s son passed away on Ikoyi.

8. On social media, both parents frequently post pictures of their sons.

9. The last similarity, which may not be relevant, is that both fathers’ stage names begin with the letter D.
