The Australian outback is majestically displayed in the new series as we relocate the largest saltwater crocodiles in the world and embark on epic journeys with my lovely wife Kaia, my small son Banjo, and my fantastic team.

The new performance features plenty of close calls and edge-of-your-seat action in addition to being breathtakingly gorgeous and terrifying. Without a doubt, I’m a bit of an adrenaline addict, but my true love is assisting in the coexistence of humans and crocodiles; the goal of my job is to safeguard both creatures and people.

How And Why Did you Get Into This Line Of Work As A Wildlife Relocator?

I used to tail brown snakes, one of the deadliest animals in the world, and put them in a bucket to show my mother since I was obsessed with snakes as a child. I’ve always had a connection to and affection for reptiles, so when I relocated to Australia’s north, my obsession changed from snakes to crocodiles.

Since there are so many of these critters up here and I now have a helicopter license, it has become much easier to relocate wildlife. Overall, I believed I possessed the necessary combination of abilities to complete the task, as well as a love of exploration and a drive for independence in all I did. It was the ideal position for me.

What Was The Scariest Moment You’ve Ever Had On The Job?

Over the years, there have been many heart-pounding incidents. A lot of this stuff starts to feel very routine, from crocodile tails whipping around and knocking me off my feet to being tossed off a small boat into crocodile-infested seas. But there was one incident that I will never forget: I was attempting to take off in a helicopter when a 9-foot-long crocodile bit down on the skid and wouldn’t let go. She let go of my hand when I was about 20 feet in the air. Being in the air and attempting to fly a helicopter while recognizing a crocodile was dangling beneath me was challenging.

What Advice Would You Give Someone Who Has A Fear Of Animals Such As Snakes Or Crocodiles?

The power of knowledge. Spend some time getting to know the animal. You’ll quickly discover that there is nothing frightening about them if you become familiar with their routines and mannerisms. It all comes down to being mindful and respectful of their surroundings. I can assure you that people are much more terrifying than snakes and crocodiles!

What Advice Would You Give Someone Who Encounters A Wild Animal While Out Camping Or Hiking? How Can You Make Sure You Don’t Get Hurt?

Maintain your composure, walk as silently as you can, and look for a place to hide behind such as bushes or trees. It’s important to move slowly since sudden movements either shock animals and cause them to flee or cause them to chase.
