YOU can now design your very own controller for your Xbox Series X or S.

That’s because after a months-long outage, Microsoft on Thursday relaunched its popular Xbox Design Lab service, which lets gamers customise joypads for their consoles.

Fans can use the programme, which is available on the Xbox website, to colour-customise nearly all the external parts of the controller.

That includes the body, back case, D-pad, bumpers, triggers, thumbsticks, ABXY, View, Menu and Share buttons.

Users can even request laser engraving to add their name, Gamertag or custom 16-character message.

Microsoft then hand makes and ships the controller for just under $70, or a little below $80 with the addition of optional laser engraving.

Design Lab was temporarily suspended last October while Microsoft navigated the transition between console generations.

The Series X/S launched a month later, with players given the choice between either a white or black controller.

With the reintroduction of the firm’s customisation programme, fans’ gaming setups are about to get a lot more colourful.

You could even make your Xbox joypad match the colour scheme of the PS5 controller, if you really wanted.

“Five years ago, we introduced Design Lab as a way for our community to design their very own official Xbox Wireless Controllers,” Microsoft said.

“Since then, we have seen hundreds of thousands of unique designs that allow users to express their creativity and bring their inspirations to life.

“Last October, we paused Xbox Design Lab as we prepared for the launch of Xbox Series X|S and our new Xbox Wireless Controller.

“Today, we are thrilled to announce that Xbox Design Lab is back to help you to once again create a controller that’s unmistakably yours.”
