A FAMILY were left shocked when they discovered a nasty surprise lurking in the attic of their new home.
Eve Ault, 25, and her family moved into their Macclesfield home over five months ago but this is the first time they’ve entered their attic after finding a new entrance.

They were left stunned when they poked their head into the tight roof space only to find three giant wasp nest lurking on the wooden beams.
Eve claims the nests were at least the size of a child’s space hopper or roughly 70cm wide.
And she said that the massive nests would cost hundreds of pounds to remove them from their home.
Eve, an online business owner, said: “I live with my family in the family home.
“Just the other week we went into the attic for the first time, we hadn’t been in yet.
“We’d been here five months, none of us had been in there as it’s through a tiny hole. We didn’t know we could it in through there where we did.”
She continued: “It was a bit of a shock. There were these nests that were at least the size of a space hopper, three of them.
“They took up a lot of the room as it’s such a small space.

“The other owners of the house didn’t tell us about it beforehand. The estate agents didn’t say, I don’t think they knew.
“It’s such a small space, we don’t really use it for anything.”
The family, who live in a three floored Victorian town house, braved their fears and removed the nests by hand, only to find a number of the insects dead inside.
Eve added: “It was most likely a home that the wasps have lived in and then moved on from.
“We’ve just taken it apart and found loads of dead ones and no alive ones.
“It was about two weeks ago now, we could’ve paid a lot to get them professionally moved but my mum and sister went in and moved it.
“It would’ve been at least a few hundred quid to get them taken out if not.”
It comes after one woman was branded “evil” by her neighbour after she removed a wasp nest to protect her son.
Meanwhile, one family were left cowering in their home after being trapped inside by a whopping swarm of wasps.
Shock footage, recorded in Lower Kersal, Salford, shows thousands of the stinging insects thronging outside the terraced property and landing on the roof.
