Tesco shoppers are rushing to buy cheap £4 product that gets bathroom grout back to white

SHOPPERS are rushing to Tesco to get their hands on a cheap product that gets bathroom grout clean again.

The supermarket giant is selling Unibond Triple Protection Grout Reviver pens for just £4 – but there’s a catch.

Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, one shopper said: “£4 grout pen with Tesco Clubcard. Really easy and effective.”

Shoppers were quick to respond to the post with one saying how “great” the little pens are.

“How good is that,” said another shopper.

But Tesco customers will need to be a member of the Clubcard scheme to get the product for £4.

This price is available as a Clubcard Price and shoppers who aren’t members will need to pay £6 for the same item.

The item is available online and in-store. But if you do buy it online you’ll need to take into account delivery costs.

If you want to pop in-store you can find your closest Tesco by using the locator tool on its website.

All you need to do is type in your postcode and all the stores nearest to your location will be listed.

But you should always have a quick shop around first as you might be able to find a similar product cheaper elsewhere.

Some shoppers were quick to point out that they’d bagged cheaper grout pens from elsewhere.

One shopper said that they’d got a pack of five of the pens from Amazon for less.

In fact, we found a pack of five white grout-reviving pens for £5.99 from the online giant – which works out at £1.20 a pen.

But always remember that prices vary by brand, size and retailer so it’s worth having a browse elsewhere before you make a decision.

Use price comparison tools like Google Shopping to find similar products from other retailers and compare prices.

And remember, it’s only a good deal if you were wanting a TV stand in the first place – if you get it just because of the offer, you aren’t necessarily saving money.

How does the Tesco Clubcard scheme work?

Tesco’s Clubcard was launched in 1995, allowing shoppers to earn points as they shop which can then be turned into vouchers for money off food or other partner schemes. 

Each time you spend £1 in-store and online, you get one point when you scan your card or app.

You also get one point for every £2 spent on fuel.

One point equals 1p, so 150 points gets you £1.50, for example.

You’ll need a minimum of 150 points to request a voucher.

Once you have enough points, you can turn them into vouchers worth the face value to spend in-store at Tesco, or you can triple their worth to spend at reward partners, including restaurants, and on days out.

Clubcard holders also get cheaper prices on over 8,000 items thanks to Clubcard Prices.

Clubcard prices save the average member £351 their annual shop, according to Tesco.

But Tesco is making some major changes to its Clubcard scheme later this summer.
