The father died after being restrained by six police officers after they responded to reports of a man in an agitated state

The sister of a man who died after being restrained by six police officers said their family is angry with lawyers representing those who arrested him for suggesting he was the author of his own misfortune.

During a public inquiry into the death of Sheku Bayoh in police custody, those representing the officers said criticism of them was “wholly unwarranted” with a lawyer suggesting Bayoh was to a great extent “the author of his own misfortune”.
