ROWNTREE’S has launched a new treat for Easter and fans are rushing out to Morrisons to stock up.

Usually a chocolate company will make their most popular brands into an Easter egg shape and stuff it with smaller versions of the chocolate bar inside.

Rowntree’s though have given it a different twist and included a sharing bag of their Randoms sweets.

A post on the Facebook group Newfoodsuk says: “New Rowntree’s Randoms Incredible Egg!!

“This egg is filled with delicious mixed fruit pieces and marshmallows in the shell!

“Deffo our kind of Easter egg! Now available at Morrisons!”

Morrisons, Asda and Iceland are all currently selling the choccy treat for £10, while Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Ocado have them priced at £12, according to Trolley.co.uk.

Although if Sainsbury’s and Tesco shoppers have their respective loyalty card, the price drops to £10.

Fans can tuck into a milk chocolate egg with mixed fruity and marshmallow inclusions, along with a sharing bag of randoms sweets.

Most commentators online seemed excited by the new Easter egg.

One wrote: “This is what I want for Easter” and tagged in her friend.

Another said: “Had mine since end of Jan…nearly time to munch it.”

While a third simply added: “Yummy.”

Although there was the odd dissenting voice, with one posting: “I can’t see the gummy pieces working with chocolate.”

It comes as major retailers are locked in a price war and are slashing the price of Easter eggs.

An expert has revealed the exact day you need to buy your Easter eggs to get the best value.

And this week there’s a host of supermarkets and chains offering eggs for less after Asda stopped stocking them for 60p.

We’ve scoured the shelves to find the least expensive place to buy Cadbury, Lindt and Nestle eggs so you don’t have to.

Prices can also vary day-to-day and supermarkets can choose to put certain items on offer.

In other news, Cadbury is giving away a “free” Cadbury Easter egg for £12.
