ROKU viewers can now enjoy nine extra TV channels without paying a penny.

The no-cost Roku Channel app already had a library of 350-400 live TV channels – and it now boasts even more.

Millions of people can watch The Roku Channel, as it doesn’t cost anything to download or use.

It’s available on a host of popular devices, including own-brand Roku streaming sticks and TVs – as well as rival gear like Amazon Fire Sticks.

The Roku Channel offers an enormous catalogue of on-demand content featuring over 80,000 TV shows and movies for free.

Now Cordcutters News has revealed that an additional nine channels have been added to The Roku Channel.

The official list of new Roku channels is:

  • 402 – PBS Retro
  • 449 – The Big Dig Dish
  • 516 – Jail
  • 651 – Rig TV
  • 913 – Wapa+
  • 960 – Chisme No Like
  • 1006 – Free TV Accion
  • 1007 – Free TV Esetlar
  • 1008 – Free TV Drama

The only catch is that you’re willing to sit through commercials.

Roku makes money by showing you ads, which means you don’t have to pay anything to stream for free.

PBS Retro is one of the big highlights, showing classic series – including iconic shows for children like Thomas & Friends and Reading Rainbow.

And some of the channels are Spanish-language.

ROKU STARS?

The Roku Channel isn’t the only option if you’re looking for free television.

There are many apps that can be downloading on Fire Sticks, iPhone and Android smartphones, or your smart TV.

That’s because ad-supported TV is increasingly popular, giving viewers a chance to cut back on premium subscriptions.

The Roku Channel – what you need to know

Here’s the lowdown…

The Roku Channel is a streaming app that’s available on a range of devices.

It offers more than 400 live TV channels.

And it promises over 80,000 movies and TV shows on an on-demand basis.

Roku says that the app is available on:

  • Roku streaming devices
  • Compatible Samsung Smart TVs
  • Compatible AMazon Fire TV devices
  • TheRokuChannel.com website
  • Roku mobile apps (iOS and Android)

Roku notes that the app is only available in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It’s also available in Mexico, but only on Roku devices.
