PREPARE for your martini to be shaken and stirred in seconds as the cocktails become available on draught in pubs.

The new taps will mean no more long waits as bartenders mix James Bond’s favourite tipple.

Promising service in under ten seconds, the devices are capable of making six cocktails in the same time it usually takes to make one by hand.

There are three flavours — Gordon’s Pink Martini, Smirnoff Passionfruit Martini and an Espresso ­Martini — available from drinks giant Diageo.

Martini cocktails are made with gin or vodka and vermouth and typically garnished with an olive or lemon twist.

It is the drink of choice for screen spy James Bond, with 007 liking his shaken but not stirred.

Since bars and restaurants reopened in April, Diageo has installed more than 2,000 draught systems, with nearly 5,000 now across the country.

More cocktails may eventually be available on draught, the company says.

Dayalan Nayager, managing director of Diageo Great Britain, said: “The increasing popularity of cocktails is one of the trends driving spirits growth and the introduction of draught cocktails means we can now bring great quality ‘on tap’ cocktails to people in bars up and down the country.”

Britain’s cocktail market is worth £624million a year.

Vodka has a 41.2 per cent share of the mixed spirits market across the UK.
