VALENTINE’S Day is less than 48 hours away, if you’re still in need of a bouquet of flowers, you need not splash the cash. 

Plenty of retailers offer Valentine’s Day deals so you can spoil your loved one whilst staying on a budget.

Valentine’s Day always falls on February 14 which is on a Wednesday this year.

So you’ll want to make sure you order your flowers or bouquets in enough time so that they arrive on the big day.

Prices can change frequently as Valentine’s Day gets closer, so it is best to shop around to ensure you are getting the cheapest deal.

You can use price comparison sites such as Google Shopping and Trolley.co.uk to compare prices across different retailers.

We reveal below where to go to get your best deal on Valentine’s flowers on the high street at the moment.

Tesco 

Tesco has Valentine’s Day flower deals starting from just £2.50. 

A single red rose can be purchased for £2.50 price, while a small bouquet of a dozen red roses is £5.

Alternatively, the Tesco Finest Sweet Desire Bouquet is £20, the flowers come in a range of rainbow colours.

The retailer also has a range of different vases if you need something to hold your bargain bouquets. 

Prices for ceramic pots start from £3 and go up to £15. 

If you have a much bigger budget to work with Tesco has a £40, 100 roses bouquet. 

These aren’t available online and will be subject to individual store availability. 

Aldi 

Aldi is also keeping prices low this year with its Valentine’s Day flower deals as its prices start from £2.29. 

Prices start from just £2.49 for a single red rose or £4.49 for a dozen red roses.

This is the cheapest deal we could find for a dozen red roses.

Aldi is also launching its first-ever flower stool in London Waterloo. 

Commuters passing through the station on February 13 can conveniently pick up a beautiful fresh bouquet for a purse-friendly amount – as little as £2.29, and a dozen red roses for just £4.49 (all proceeds donated to Teenage Cancer Trust).

Aldi’s flower stall offerings include:

  • Specially Selected One Love Single Rose – £2.29
  • Dozen Red Roses- £4.49
  • Love Always Bouquet – £9.99
  • Double Dozen Roses – £9.99
  • Elegance Bouquet – £14.99

Asda

Asda has some great prices on their Valentine’s Day flower deals. 

If you’re watching your coin they have traditional spray carnations for £2.50 but bear in mind that prices for a red rose bouquet start from £12. 

If you want roses for a little cheaper mixed roses are priced at £8 while a rose and lily bouquet will set you back £8.  

Lidl

Lidl customers can nab flowers starting as low as £2.49 – including the Deluxe Rose.

For £4.99, shoppers can grab their loved one the standard dozen red roses or the Valentine’s Day tulips.

The Classic Red Roses and Sweetest Crush Bouquet are £9.99.

Lidl is also offering other higher-priced flower deals like the Double Dozen in red or pink for £11.99, Madam Red Roses for £19.99, or the One and Only bouquet priced at £14.99.

Morrisons

Prices at Morrisons start a little higher at £5. 

Those watching their wallets may want to try the dozen red roses for just £5.

But if you’ve got a little more to spend the retailer has rainbow roses for £10 and even Valentine bouquets for £20. 

We suggest you move fast with these deals as some of the flowers are already sold out. 

M&S

M&S is far from the cheapest option for Valentine’s Day flowers but it does provide free shipping when you pre-order. 

Prices on flowers in M&S start at £25, you have the option to choose from blush roses, tulips or traditional red. 

You can add a bottle of Prosecco to your dozen rose bouquet for £35. 

If you want to go all out a pink and red rose bouquet with champagne and chocolate is £100. 

M&S is advising you to order your flowers by February 13 if you want to make sure that you get them before the big day. 

Sainsbury’s 

Sainsbury’s has a range of different bouquets on offer online and in stores. 

You can pick up long-stem roses in multiple colours like yellow, white orange, pink, or red for £5.

You can pick up spray carnations for just £3 and Alstromeria for £3.50. 

If you’ve got a little more to spend a dozen red roses from the supermarket will set you back £10. 

Ordering next-day delivery Valentine’s flowers 

Plenty of high street and supermarket chains like M&S and Morrisons also provide next-day delivery services.

The express service usually comes with a pricier delivery charge though, so always check costs beforehand.

Most e-florists and online retailers will offer a next-day delivery service.

Make sure you check before you order that the retailer will able to deliver your flowers by the date you need them.

It’s always worth shopping around so you can figure out what deal works best for you.

What if I’m unhappy with my flowers?

Consumer group Which? advises you to take the following steps in order to grab a refund:

  • Take a picture as evidence of poor condition or damage to your flowers to support your complaint.
  • If a loved one or friend has sent you flowers that have arrived in a poor condition or late, tell them. Otherwise, the retailer may say they can’t access the order information and won’t resolve the problem.
  • If you receive fewer amount of flowers than you ordered, you’re entitled to a partial refund for the missing flowers.
