Cashing in: Nanopore chief exec and co-founder Gordon Sanghera
The scientists and academics behind biotechnology firm Oxford Nanopore have raked in £100million in pay since its £3.5billion float in London in 2021.
Gordon Sanghera, chief executive and co-founder, received £29.2million in 2022 while chief technology officer Clive Brown was paid £26.2million.
Co-founder Spike Willcocks and chief financial officer Tim Cowper were handed £23.8million and £7million respectively, new filings show.
The four received a combined £14million the previous year. The genome sequencing firm became a household name during the pandemic as its patented technology, which enables scientists to sequence DNA and RNA, was used to identify and track Covid variants.
