TESCO shoppers have just over a month left to cash in their Clubcard vouchers or risk missing out on free money.

If you’re the type of customer who always has bundles of old vouchers at the bottom of your wallet, you might still be able to claim them.

But the vouchers expire two years from the date they were issued.

And that means customers have to use coupons issued in August 2020 before the end of next month or they will be invalid.

Tesco vouchers are issued to customers who earn points by purchasing items and using the supermarket’s Clubcard.

For every £1 you spend in-store or online you receive one point, or one point for every £2 you spend on fuel.

And if you manage to total 150 points, you’ll receive a £1.50 voucher.

The vouchers can be used towards other food shops or with Tesco partners, like Prezzo or Zizzi.

The vouchers can be used online and in store to save money on your shopping basket or fuel.

They can also be swapped online with Tesco’s “reward partners”, including Pizza Express and Cineworld, which boosts the value by up to three times.

That means a £10 voucher could be turned into £30 with a number of partners, including Chessington World of Adventures and Disney+.

You can find out when your vouchers are due to expire by logging on to the Tesco website or app.

How can I extend my Clubcard vouchers?

Martin Lewis‘ Money Saving Expert (MSE) has explained that Tesco customers can extend the use of vouchers they have earned through the Clubcard loyalty scheme.

By making a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards website , you’ll get the remaining points credited back to your account.

So, if you buy a 50p voucher with one of Tesco’s partners, you’ll get a £1.50 voucher to spend in the restaurant and the rest of your points will return to your Clubcard for another two years.

So if you had £10 worth of points and you buy a 50p restaurant voucher, the remaining £9.50 will go back to your account instead of expiring.

Find your nearest Tesco store using the branch locator online.

How does Tesco Clubcard work?

Clubcard vouchers are collected when you scan your membership card at the till at Tesco.

You get one point for every £1 spent – or one point for every £2 on fuel – and 150 points is equivalent to a £1.50 voucher.

It’s better value for money to spend vouchers with one of Tesco’s reward partners, but you can also spend them on your supermarket shopping.

Points are worth up to three times more when you redeem them with one of the supermarket’s partners.

Shoppers who use their Clubcard can also get discounts on selected items.
