PREGNANCY has not stopped Rihanna in her trendy tracks.
The singer has been flaunting her bump in typically eye-catching style.
But not everyone can spend mega-bucks upping the fashion stakes. Follow our tips for spending less on clothes when you are expecting.
BELT UP: Elastic waist extenders let you keep wearing pre-pregnancy trousers for a little longer. They extend across the gap when you undo your trousers and are best worn with a long and loose top, covering the waistline.
A complete Belly Belt kit is £15.99 on Amazon. You could buy a simple extender from Dunelm for £2.75, or even try making your own with some elastic and basic sewing skills.
BORROW: If you have friends or family who recently had a nipper, ask if they are willing to donate any maternity clothes. Keep them in good order and you can return them if needed.
SEASONED PRO: Find clothes that work in all weather. Summer vest tops can be used as base layers in colder months. Use layers you can strip back or pile on when the temperature changes.
Loose dresses in warmer months can be reused in winter. Combine them with leggings, boots and a big cardigan.
Remember, the baby will help keep you warm too!
SQUEEZE INTER IT: Some staples, such as maternity leggings, can be found on the High Street. But most stock is online, so put up your feet and browse the latest offers on the internet. George at Asda has a new maternity range including leggings, jumpers and dresses. New Look has a wide range too, with 25 per cent off some items.
JOIN THE CLUB: There is more to pregnancy than finding clothes to fit. You need to prepare for the baby’s arrival too. You can join the Boots Parenting Club free while pregnant. It is for customers with a Boots Advantage Card, which gives eight points per £1 spent on baby products. Visit boots.com/parenting-club.
