“My grandmas iPhone 13, I’ve never seen screen burn in this bad on a phone,” the Redditor wrote.

A picture accompanied the post and revealed a very faded and bleached iPhone screen.

The screen resembled a washed-out old photograph that’s been left in the sun and not a sharp and crisp iPhone display.

“Did she just like…. Never ever turn the screen off or even the brightness? Lol,” one person asked in the comments.

“Yup… and kept it plugged into that temu charger 24/7. Always felt like I could cook an egg on it,” the poster replied.

“I’ve NEVER seen screen burn in on an iPhone,” another person wrote.

“I’ve never seen it on any phone. Just computer screens from the 80s and 90s (though I loved my screensavers!!!),” another replied.

Screen burn can happen on smartphones with OLED displays.

Some people have even reported screen burn issues with the iPhone 15 range, according to Mashable.

An iOS 17.1 update was said to fix a screen burn issue for some users.

‘I can’t believe it’ say iPhone owners after finding secret trick to fall asleep and say it’s ‘the only way I can sleep’

It’s worth looking after your phone so you can avoid similar issues or you could face a hefty bill to fix it.

Don’t leave your phone on charge for prolonged periods of time.

Once it’s charged up, remove it from the power.

It’s also worth not having your phone in use for prolonged periods of time without a break.

This shouldn’t apply to the new iPhone’s always-on-display which is designed to be on all the time without damaging your device.
