WHATSAPP is working on loads of new features – and we’ve picked three of the biggest to share.

Sadly we can’t say exactly when all of these new WhatsApp hacks will arrive, but they’re all in development or testing right now.

WhatsApp is working on Communities right now

WhatsApp Communities

The wildly popular chat app is constantly adding new features, and one of them is called Communities.

Communities are basically big groups that contain WhatsApp group chats within them.

The brand new feature called Communities has been in development for months.

Each Community is like a giant “group” for your existing WhatsApp Groups.

Groups are one of the most popular ways to chat inside the Facebook-owned app.

But having multiple Groups can sometimes be chaotic – and hard to keep track of.

When it’s rolled out, it will let you message multiple groups at once.

For instance, you could have a Work Community that would have lots of smaller Groups inside.

Or maybe your local area would have a Community, which splits into separate Groups for schooling and complaining about neighbourhood issues.

Sadly Meta-owned WhatsApp hasn’t confirmed when this feature will roll out to the general public.

Hide Online Status

WhatsApp is currently testing a feature that lets you hide your online status.

The game-changing feature – dubbed “stealth mode” by fans – will let you use the app in secret.

Right now it’s impossible to hide the fact that you’re online.

All you can do is conceal your “Last Seen” status.

But an update currently being trialled on the app beta

The new feature will be available in Settings > Privacy > Last Seen & Online.

But sadly it’s not guaranteed that you’ll be able to use it, even on the beta.

WhatsApp has been criticised in the past for not allowing users to hide their online statuses on the app.

So it’s good that this is changing in the future.

Saving deleted texts

WhatsApp is also working on a way to let you save messages that were going to disappear.

The clever trick would work with automatically-deleting WhatsApp messages.

And it would let users exempt certain texts so that they don’t vanish – an important WhatsApp warning.

These saved disappearing messages will be stored in a special area inside the app called Kept Messages.

The feature is currently being developed for the WhatsApp beta test version of the app.

In that version, it’s only possible for group admins to keep or upkeep messages within groups.

If you want to try out new features first, follow our guide below to join the WhatsApp beta.

How to get WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m In” button and then click “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Joining the WhatsApp beta on iOS for iPhone is more difficult, and has limited capacity.
