MOTOROLA is re-launching an iconic noughties phone – long before the iPhone ruled the world.
The beloved Motorola Razr landed way back in 2003 and is the best-selling clamshell phone of all time.
In fact, Motorola sold more than 130million units globally – running until about 2007.
Part of its success was linked to celeb endorsements, including a glam pink version toted by Paris Hilton.
Motorola launched new versions in 2007, 2011 and 2019 with significantly less success.
Now Motorola is giving it another go, with a revamped model due out in a matter of days.
A post on Chinese social media site Weibo revealed that the phone will be unveiled on August 2.
We’re expecting it to launch alongside another handset named the Moto X30 Pro.
The Moto Razr 2022 is tipped to feature flagship-grade specs – putting it direction with the iPhone and top Samsung models.
This could include a powerful Snapdragon 8+ chip, a smooth 120Hz display, and three cameras on the back.

It may also tout 12GB of RAM and a generous 512GB of storage.
Motorola’s Razr will almost certainly have a full screen internally – rather than the keyboard we saw in the noughties.
This means it’s a clear rival to Samsung’s own series of foldable phones.
It’s the sci-fi Razr you’ve always dreamed of.
The catch is that the new model is only available in China initially.
It’s possible that a UK launch could follow, although it’s unconfirmed.
But the next Motorola Razr model is due out on August 2, so fans don’t have long to wait.
