Akerman spoke candidly about her involvement in Watchmen in a 2017 BUILD interview, admitting that the outfit her character had to wear wasn’t her favorite. Despite being fitted with a corset, Akerman said that the latex bodysuit was “very unpleasant.”
According to Akerman, who spoke to BuzzFeed, “they wanted to squeeze my waist in three inches smaller than what it truly is every day so that my shoulders appeared broader.” The outfit was likened to a “human condom” by Akerman, who said,
“It amplifies it after absorbing whatever temperature it is. Therefore, if we were filming outside and the weather was icy, I felt even colder, and if we were inside and the temperature was high, I felt even hotter.
Intense preparation was necessary since the suit revealed all of Akerman’s “contours,” in addition to ensuring that she could portray battle sequences appropriately.

Malin Akerman Said That She Would Only Reprise Her Role If She Could Get A Different One

There hasn’t been any word on a Watchmen sequel as of yet, despite HBO’s acclaimed miniseries that gave the plot a fresh spin. In the HBO series, Laurie/Silk Spectre II was notable for being presented as an aged lady, with Jean Smart playing the part and donning business suits and blazers as opposed to latex and corsets.
