STARGAZERS are set for a space treat trio this week – if they’re prepared to brave the early morning chill.

Saturday will see Mars appear super close to the Moon, with Venus also in sight.

And best of all, if you want to see them, it should be visible with the naked eye.

But you’ll have to be willing to get up early to catch a glimpse.

According to NASA, you’ll need to look in the south east direction around 45 minutes before sunrise to be able to see them.

It might be difficult to observe as they’ll show up no higher than eight degrees above the horizon.

But those who can spot it are in for an interesting celestial line-up.

Venus, the brightest planet of the lot, should be quite easy to see in the east.

It’ll be so bright that you’ll probably be able to see it during the day as well.

The planet returns to the evening skies for the first time since last month, rising before the Sun as the ‘Morning Star’.

And with it, Mars is coming back into view, after hiding behind the burning ball for the last few months.

It’s an event which actually stops NASA from being able to communicate with its spacecraft on Mars for around two weeks every two years.

Of course, these things are also dependent on weather too.

So be sure to check the forecast nearer the time to ensure thick cloud won’t ruin the display.
