The problems have since been resolved.

The bank said on Twitter: “We know some of you are having issues with Internet Banking. We’re sorry for this. We’re working to have it back to normal soon.”

The first complaints were reported to Downdetector at around 7am this morning, but had dropped off by around 10am.

Users said they had struggled to access both mobile banking and online banking.

Some customers said on Twitter that they were able to log on, but their bank balance was incorrectly showing zero funds available.

One Lloyds customer said: “Is your Internet banking and mobile phone banking app down at the moment?

“I can log in but all my accounts come up with N/A, only my credit card account shows up.”

Others said they had struggled to withdraw money from cash points during the outage.

A Halifax customer said: “Its not just Internet banking it’s cash points too, I’ve tried three this morning and can’t get cash out, can’t see anything on app for bank accounts but can for other accounts, will it be the same in shops?”

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: “Online banking is now back to normal. We’re sorry some of our customers had issues with it this morning.”
