TikTok influencer and video strategist Connor Newell posted a video for his 340,000 followers that unpacks his top quick tips for improving video quality.

The first strategy is straightforward and simple.

Newell advises filming your content using the camera app, not with the in-app camera on TikTok or Instagram.

Upload your HD files from your iPhone library to post.

Next, Newell said, “Make sure your video quality is set to 4K 24 frames per second and the format is set to most compatible.”

To alter your camera settings to Newell’s recommended parameters, open the Settings app and go to the Camera block.

Click the tab that says Record Video and toggle on 4K at 24 fps.

Swipe back to the previous screen, tap Format and toggle on the Most Compatible switch.

Newell also recommends turning off Apple Pro Raw and Apple Pro Res, which can be done on the same menu.

Lastly, Newell has insight for users with the latest device, the iPhone 13.

iPhone 13 owners should drop the exposure of their video by clicking the icon in the top left corner of the camera and scaling the exposure down to 0.7 with the gear.

“This is going to make the lighting of your image look way leaner,” Newell said.

The iPhone’s clean resolution camera can be boosted with just a few quick tweaks.

In a competitive market of user-generated content on TikTok and Instagram, improving your tools can help you stand out.
