A MUM who started her own business after putting away £3 every time she went shopping now makes £32,000 a month.

Tegiye Mimi-Ozalp, from Melbourne in Australia, launched a 100 per cent natural deodorant range after worrying that toxins were affecting her newborn baby.

To avoid throwing her family savings into a risky new business, the mum-of-four came up with a cunning trick to raise funds.

Every time Tegiye went to the shops or got a coffee, she put aside £2.68 ($5AUD).

She saved up £800 ($1,500AUD) in just four months, allowing her to launch her business Saf Organics brand – which now makes £32,000 ($60,000AUD) a month.

Tegiye told the Mail: “It all started when I became a mum.

“I just picked up a spray deodorant. And then picked up my newborn to breastfeed

“And I thought, “Oh my God, this child is suffocating’. So that’s when my search for a good deodorant started.”

The canny mum also raised money by selling things she no longer needed.

Saf Organics came away with a £5,357 ($10,000AUD) profit in its first month after selling out of natural deodorant on its opening night.

Tegiye then decided to sell the family home in Melbourne and pack her husband, children and dog into a caravan in search of the “magic of Australia’s botanicals”.

The quixotic expedition inspired her to launch a facial skincare range drawing on aboriginal bush medicine.

She said: “We realised that everything we see as weeds is actually bush medicine and has so many healing properties.

“We decided to use all our tribal knowledge that we’ve gained along the way and put them into a bottle.”

Now Tegiye sells around 700 products a month, including cleanser, moisturiser, vitamin C serum, sleep masks and eye cream.

It comes after a barista revealed how she makes an extra £7,000 a month with her very unusual side hustle.
