I won £60,000 lotto jackpot but I’ve only been paid £20k – it’s a nightmare

A WOMAN who won a whopping £60,000 Lotto jackpot says she’s facing a “nightmare” after receiving just £20,000.

Jane Fallon, 62, won the pay-out in site WeLoveLotto back in February 2021.

She immediately called the Department for Work and Pensions to inform them of the win, and a week later her ESA support came to an end.

But more than a year on, Jane is still waiting for £40,000 to be paid out, the Mirror reports.

She chose four EuroMillions HotPick numbers and then doubled up while gambling on the site, which allows customers to buy tickets for lotteries around the world.

The company boasts of its “guaranteed 100 per cent pay-out policy”.

But Jane, of Greater Manchester, said she received just three payments before the company stopped sending cash.

“I am sick of them,” she said.

“My aim is to warn people about that Lotto website.

“I’ve phoned Action Fraud and the Gambling Commission but have had no help.”

Before the win, Jane was claiming Personal Independence Payments and Support Allowance (ESA). It’s a means tested benefit, and cannot be given if the claimant has more than £16,000.

Jane contacted the Government herself to inform them – but when WeLoveLottery failed to pay out, her savings quickly dropped again, meaning she had to start her claim again.

A spokesperson from WeLoveLotto said: “Camelot UK refused to pay out on this winning ticket due to the fact our customer attempted to claim the prize herself directly with Camelot which was against our clear and specific instructions.

“WeLoveLotto and our agents are the official ticket holders, and it is our responsibility to claim all prizes from the lottery operators on behalf of our customers.

“To prevent our customers jeopardizing any winning claims, we have since blurred out the bar code on all the scanned tickets that we upload to our players accounts.”

It comes after Camelot refused to pay out a £6.5million jackpot to a player – even though he had the winning ticket.

Peter Rhodes claims he was denied his winnings because the amount had already been claimed.

The 60-year-old believes a shopkeeper stole his jackpot when he took his ticket to a shop in London in October 2019.

And one unlucky grandmother was a EuroMillions winner for just ten minutes before it all came crashing down.

Margaret De Micheli, 72, bought a ticket for the £34million jackpot on March 29 – and was handed a slip to say she’d won when she checked at a local post office.

But after dashing to Tesco to confirm again, she learned she didn’t have the correct numbers after all.
