A PREGNANT mum who created her own multi million-pound business while working full-time says she knew she’d make it after the idea gave her “goosebumps”.
Keely Parsons, 24, began company Sassy Shop Wax from her dining room table a few years ago, initially creating wax melts and soaps as a side hustle.
After juggling her job in recruitment with managing the business, sales spiralled – and Keely’s brand is now worth an astonishing £4.5million.
Celebs including Towie’s Gemma Collins and Kerry Katona are fans.
Keely said she was inspired by her struggles with mental health as a teen, telling the Bristol Post she reached a point of “total burnout” while studying for her A-levels.
“I remember worrying so much about my exams that I told my friends I couldn’t see them, I would miss social gatherings and parties to get my grades up,” she said.
“After finishing my exams, I reached a point of total burnout.
“All I could do was stay in bed.
“I went to my doctor and told them I just didn’t know what was wrong. I felt so sad.”
After getting support, she achieved a full-time job in recruitment, but began to feel “stuck” – until dreaming up her brand overnight.
“The night of that ‘spark’, my mind was flowing with ideas. I was getting goosebumps all over,” she said,

“I couldn’t sleep with excitement.”
And while the first few months were difficult, with slow sales, soon the brand took off.
“I was full of fire and passion,” she said.
“When I tell people I worked for 12-hour days, commuted two hours to my recruitment job and then made wax for three hours in the evening, while pregnant, people are usually in disbelief that I even bothered,” she said.
By 2021, Keely was employing 20 members of staff at her warehouse in Bristol, and Sassy was being stocked by Boohoo and Pretty Little Thing.
“I never imagined my life would look like this but by believing in myself, I have created my dream life from the bottom up,” Keely said.
“I don’t let anyone tell me something is impossible now because I have challenged and conquered my biggest battle of all, my mind.”
