A WOMAN has told how she was left stunned by her boss’s unbelievable response after explaining she was too ill to work.
Tate Duane touched on her awkward talk with her former superior after explaining to him she was sick with a fever in a TikTok video.
The former Volleyball player, who boasts nearly 48,000 followers, joked she “should’ve sued” her ex-employer for their unsympathetic response.
The American explained she had informed her manager that she would be unable to attend work as she was sick.
But instead of being greeted by well wishes, she was branded “useless” and a “waste of time” by her boss.
Tate said: “This is when I told him someone else was covering my shift.”
She shared a screenshot of a text exchange in which she messaged a man called Sal to say she was too sick to work.
The TikToker wrote: “Hi Sal, I was supposed to take Ashley’s 5-c shift tonight but I have a fever so I am not going to make it.”
But clearly unimpressed by the news, her boss hit back with a brutal reply.
He wrote: “Then tell Ashley to come in and work her regular shift.

“You have become useless and a waste of time so don’t come in tomorrow.”
She compared her fiery old employer to the one in her new role, who had just sent her and other colleagues a kind message.
After moving Down Under, Tate could hardly believe the difference in decorum from her new manager.
She said: “Australia having a national holiday to check in on each other to see if they are doing OK, is actually the cutest thing I have ever heard.
“Tonight my boss texted us and said, “hey guys, happy RUOK day, if you ever need anything, I’m always here to talk.’
“It was so sweet and it reminded me of what my American boss said to me.”
Despite Aussies correcting her on the fact the day was not a national holiday, they applauded her new boss’s thoughtfulness.
‘TERRIBLE HUMAN’
RUOK Day is an annual occurrence in Australia, launched by a suicide prevention charity to encourage people to support each other.
It has taken place for every second Thursday in September since 2009.
One social media user wrote: “Your old boss is a terrible human… he can get in the bin.”
Another shocked commenter said: “Deadset? Your old boss sent you that?”
Tate jokingly responded: “I wish I was lying!”
A third user added: “Yeah in Australia that’s called unfair dismissal and he would be in a lot of s**t!”
And a fourth chimed in: ” I hope you’re enjoying Australia, the actual land of the free.”
We previously told how an angry employee shared a furious note from their manager telling staff they were BANNED from being sick.
The outrageous note, believed to have been posted at a Subway store in South Carolina, said unless workers could find cover they would have to come in.
