BEING removed from someone’s social media can be a painful, upsetting experience.

But there is a way to track who has unfollowed/unfriended you – find out here.

How to see who has unfollowed me

Facebook

If you’ve noticed a sudden drop in your friend count and you’re anxious for answers, this new app could turn out to be your new best pal.

Who Deleted Me keeps track of your Facebook friends list and notifies you when anyone has had the audacity to remove you from their social media circle.

When you first login, the app takes stock of your current list of mates and every time you return it compares the latest version to the saved one.

It then informs you who your missing pals are and whether they have deactivated their account, or simply deleted you.

If you've ever suspected someone has removed you on social media, there's a way of finding out.

It also lets you in on the people you’re making connections with, as opposed to breaking them with, so it’s not all doom and gloom.

It’s available for free on Chrome and Firefox internet browsers as a plug-in, as well as Android and Apple mobile devices.

Sadly the app cannot provide backdated information on who has deleted you in the past, so you can only start keeping track of who has unfriended you after you download the extension.

It also enables you to keep track of who YOU have deleted – though be aware others may be using this brilliant tool too.

Conveniently, Who Deleted Me also tells you the last time your friends have used Facebook, which is pretty handy if you’re waiting on a reply to an important message.

Twitter

There are a number of apps and websites which enable Twitter users to find out who unfollowed their accounts on the micro-blogging site.

One of the popular facilities for checking on your Twitter network is StatusBrew.com which is free to use.

The site has a Recent Unfollowers section which lets users see which scoundrels have decided to no longer follow them.

The app has a section called Have Unfollowed Me – which does exactly what it says on the tin.

However, be aware that this app is not authorized by Instagram, which could mean your account security could be at risk.
