TESCO is letting kids eat free at all its cafes this summer but there’s a catch.
The offer will allow kids to eat free in all 311 Tesco cafes between July 25 and August 26.

However, parents will still have to spend 60p or more to claim one free kids meal worth up to £3.25.
So if you were to purchase two pieces (£1.20) of fruit you could feed two children for free.
However, there’s another catch – you’ll only be able to take part in the scheme if you’re a Clubcard holder.
But it’s free to join the scheme so sign up now.
Alessandra Bellini, chief customer officer at Tesco said: “We know that costs can add up over the school holidays, so offering free meals to children with any item purchased at our cafés for an adult, is one of the ways we are supporting parents during this time.
“In addition to Kids Eat Free, Tesco also supports families in the community through its partnership with Fareshare and the Trussell Trust.
“Tesco provides donated long-life food and surplus food to charities and community groups, including The Trussell Trust foodbanks.”
What can my kids eat for free?
As part of the free meal scheme Tesco is offering the following breakfasts and lunches.

They’ll also save £3.25 on:
- Pork sausages, veg, side and a drink
- Baked chicken goujons, veg, side and a drink
- Omega 3 fish fingers, veg, side and a drink
- Hidden veg mac ‘n’ cheese, veg, side and a drink
Kids not wanting a hot meal can also get a sandwich, drink, single fruit item and choice of two snacks as part of the supermarket’s ‘Cold Pick ‘n’ Mix Deal’.
What do I have to buy to lock-in a free kids meal?
You’ll need to be a Clubcard holder and will need to purchase one of the following items to allow your child to eat for free in Tesco’s cafes:
- 60p fruit (apple, banana, easy peeler)
- £1 biscuit items
- £2 bakery items
- £1.80 breakfast tea
- £2.75 small latte
- £4.95 small breakfast
- £3.50 avocado and toast
How does Tesco Clubcard work?
Clubcard vouchers are collected when you scan your membership card at the till at Tesco.
You get one point for every £1 spent – or one point for every £2 on fuel – and 150 points is equivalent to a £1.50 voucher.
It’s better value for money to spend vouchers with one of Tesco’s reward partners, but you can also spend them on your supermarket shopping.
Points are worth up to three times more when you redeem them with one of the supermarket’s partners.
Shoppers who use their Clubcard can also get discounts on selected items.
Are other retailers offering free meals for children?
Yes. For example, Morrison’s is allowing all children under 16 to have a free meal provided they’re with an adult who spends £4.99 or more.
Children who visit Asda’s cafe’s can get a meal for £1, irrespective of how much their parents spend.
And, from July 11 to September 3, kids can get a meal from the children’s menu from between 95p and £1.50 at Ikea. The deal includes one hot meal, jelly and a soft drink, and a piece of fruit.

Kids who’s parents are on certain incomes are also eligible for free school meal vouchers over the summer holidays.
Some parents can also claim up to £200 in school uniform grants to help with the cost of living crisis.
Energy suppliers also have schemes in place where you can apply for free grants to put towards your energy bills.
