Is Homebase open over the Christmas Bank Holiday?

Homebase stores will be closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day over the Yuletide season.

This is to give staff time to celebrate the festive period at home with their families and friends.

Most stores will be open on Christmas Eve, but with reduced hours, and will close at 4pm.

On Tuesday, December 27 – which is a bank holiday – the store will be opening its doors at 9am and staying open until 6pm.

New Year’s Day lands on a Sunday in 2023, so the store will be restricted to Sunday opening hours.

You should check before visiting the store on New Year’s Eve as it may close earlier to allow staff to get off and enjoy their New Year celebrations.

Monday, January 2, 2023, is a bank holiday so you should also check for any restricted opening hours in your local store.

The best way to find out if your nearest branch is open is to head online and use its store checker tool.

Are shops closed on the Bank Holiday?

The majority of retailers have confirmed the days people will be able to shop in their stores over the Christmas period.

Most shops and supermarkets will be closed for certain days in order to give staff some much-needed time off.

Almost all stores across the UK are shut on Christmas Day, but there are also a handful of retailers that won’t open on Boxing Day either, including Iceland and Aldi.

Opening hours can vary from branch to branch, so check your local store times before you make the trip.

Most big retailers will have their opening times listed on their websites.
