Three has slashed the upfront cost of Apple’s 2020 smartphone this December

Scroll roughly halfway down the Buymobile iPhone 12 contracts webpage and you’ll find this gem of a contract from Three.

Originally, it came with an upfront cost of £65 but that’s been reduced to zero in what Buymobiles has badged a ‘Winter Wonder’ discount.

Since the release of the all-new iPhone 14 in September, we’ve watched monthly costs for the iPhone 13 tumble – but some of the best deals during Black Friday were on the iPhone 12.

Okay, it’s quite a budget phone – this is Apple tech – but £31 a month is a solid sum on what’s still a fabulous piece of tech.

It’s the first iPhone that came with an OLED display, 5G connectivity and MagSafe charging, so it’s still very much part of the new era of Apple smartphones.

Our Tech Editor Sean Keach tested the smartphone upon its release, and in his iPhone 12 review he describes it as ‘a great all-rounder with amazing features for the price’.

That price was back in 2020 – two years on, it’s all the better.

If you’ve got an eye on a newer phone, take a look at a great iPhone 13 deal our tech deals reporter Tom Tyers covered last week.

You can pick up the iPhone 13 from Vodafone with 200GB data for £30 per month and £160 upfront.
