Here are some easy-peasy meal ideas.

POSH PEAS: Upgrade your peas and pan fry instead of boiling them.

Fry them from frozen with a generous knob of butter, a crushed clove of garlic and a dash of sugar. Add some chopped mint, the perfect partner to peas, if you have any.

GO FOR A DIP: Defrost 200g peas then whizz them in a food processor (or mash with a potato masher) with five tablespoons of plain or Greek yogurt, the juice of half a lemon, some garlic, salt and pepper.

This makes a tasty pea hummus, perfect for lunch boxes served with pitta bread and carrot sticks. For a creamier dip, blitz or mash cooked or defrosted peas with soft cheese and fresh herbs.

The combination of peas, garlic, lemon and cream cheese makes a very tasty pasta sauce. A little cooked ham or salmon will give an extra protein hit.
