VALENTINE’S Day is already approaching, and shoppers are getting ready to celebrate in style.

Co-op has now released its upcoming Valentine’s Day meal – complete with steak and strawberry cheesecake.

The supermarket this year is offering a meal for two starting from £12 on the loved-up day.

But you should note – that’s without booze to go with it.

The deal is made up from a starter, main meal, dessert, soft drink and side.

And you’ll need to be a Co-op card member to get the deal for £12.

If you’re not a member, the meal will cost £15.

You could save as much as £10.75 – as the garlic tear and share, sirloin steaks, mashed potato, any dessert and San Pellegrino Lemon would normally cost £22.75.

And if you want to add some alcohol to your meal instead of the soft drink, it’ll cost £16 for card members and £20 otherwise.

The dinner will hit stores from February 8 to 14 – but stock may be subject to availability so you might want to call up your local store beforehand.

You can find where that is using the store locator on Co-op’s website.

Before we get into the menu, do note the soft drink option is the same price as last year, but the boozy alternative was just a little cheaper at £15 for card members.

Co-op scored 83 out of 100 for a budget feast and came first, after the magazine tried dishes including dishes including garlic and parsley sharing bread with camembert and Hereford rump steaks.

In comparison, Morrisons and Tesco both scored 78 out of 100.

We haven’t yet seen what other supermarkets have in store for their Valentine’s Day meals yet, but we’ll update when they do.

Remember to shop around when it comes nearer to the date – there are always plenty of mouth-watering feasts in store around the supermarkets.

Last year, for example, Tesco did a £15 meal for two including duck breast and a chocolate brownie.
