We can reveal the cheapest place to buy your Christmas chocs this week

With everything from brussel sprouts to baubles reduced in the lead-up to the big day, we have narrowed down our bargain hunting to Christmas chocs.

We have scoured the supermarkets to see where you can get the best deal if you are looking to stock up on chocolate treats this week.

All of the prices have been checked online and based on a 600g tub of Quality Street, Roses, Celebrations and a 550g tub of Cadbury’s Heros.

Some retailers are showing out of stock online, but we have checked prices where we can.

Remember, just because they are showing out of stock online, does not mean they are unavailable instore, so it is worth double checking.

Also, prices can change daily at this time of the year so it is best to do your own comparison to make sure you are getting the cheapest deal.

You can use price comparion sites such as Google Shopping and Trolley.co.uk to compare prices across different retailers.

We reveal below where to go to get your best deal on tubs of chocolate this week.

Quality Street

Quality Street is a firm festive favourite and can usually be found in most households over the Christmas period.

This week we have found the cheapest way to get yourself a deal on a 600g tub of the seasonal staple, and it’s not how you might think.

Just Eat has 600g tubs of Quality Street at £3.62, reduced from the usual price of £7.25.

The deal is available when buying the chocolates from Iceland and The Food Warehouse via the Just Eat website or app.

This is the cheapest deal around at the moment, but bear in mind that delivery charges will apply

Delivery on Just Eat is £1.99 for orders under £15 and anything over is free.

Running a close second to the Just Eat deal is Aldi, who has the 600g tubs for £3.89 at the moment.

The third cheapest is fellow discounter Lidl, at £4.49, which is still a 87p more expensive than Just Eat.

Then was Asda who is showing a 600g tub of Quality Street for £4.50.

When we checked Tesco online it was showing out of stock until December 23, while Morrisons and Sainsbury’s both had the chocolates for £5.

Roses

Earlier this month shoppers were rushing to get their hands on Roses chocolate tubs for just £2.

Ocado had slashed the 550g tubs by a whopping 60%.

However if you were not lucky enough to bag yourself that deal then we can still give you heads up on where to go this week.

While we could not find them as cheap as £2, the best price we could find is in Asda where they are selling for £4.

The next best price is in Morrisons who is selling the chocs for £5, closely followed by Sainsburys at £5.50.

At the time we checked online Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Iceland were all showing out of stock for the Roses tub.

However, bear in mind that they could still have some in the stores, so it is worth keeping an eye out.

Celebrations

If you want to get yourself on some Celebrations for less this then pop down to Aldi.

The discount supermarket has tubs of Celebrations for just £3.99, and it is the cheapest around right now.

Next is Tesco who has knocked £1 off its 600g tubs of Celebrations and is selling them for £4, just 1p more than Aldi.

Lidl is third as it is selling the chocs for £4.49, closely followed by Morrisons and Sainsbury’s at £5.

Iceland is the most expensive as its tubs of Celebrations will set you back £5.50.

Cadbury’s Heroes

If you are a Cadbury fan you might prefer a tub of Cadbury’s Heroes.

We could not find these chocs in Aldi or Lidl, so we could not compare the price in those supermarkets.

However, the cheapest that we could find in the other major supermarkets was in Asda and Tesco.

Both of the retailers are charging £4 for a 550g tub of the Cadbury chocs.

Morrisons has tubs for £5 and Sainsbury’s for £5.50.

We could not find any listed on the Iceland or Food Warehouse site.

Meanwhile, a major supermarket has recently been selling Cadbury Christmas chocolate for just 20p.
