BOOTS’ Christmas advert is all about making it the best one ever.

Boots bosses wanted to celebrate Christmas this year, after so many people were disappointed last year as a last-minute lockdown ruined plans.

Boots’ Bags of Joy ad sees BAFTA nominated actress Jenna Coleman playing Joy, who discovers an unexpected gift from her Nan.

What seems like a simple tote containing a small present actually turns into a seemingly bottomless bag, reminiscent of the one owned by Mary Poppins.

The magical bag represents the thousands of gifts in the Boots range, including beauty, fragrance and homeware products as well as small stocking fillers.

After Joy tips out the haul, she heads out to spread her own joy to family and friends who are impressed by what keeps coming out of her mysterious tote bag.

Peter Markey, chief marketing officer at Boots UK, said: “After the challenges of the past 18 months, we felt it was more important than ever for Boots to bring joy to the nation by telling an uplifting, positive story at Christmas.”

The launch of the major ad campaigns marks the start of the countdown to Christmas for millions of shoppers.

Each year, we round up the best Christmas ads out there – and the competition is always tough.

John Lewis fans think they spotted a clue announcing the launch of the brand’s ad campaign this week.

The Boots ad is available to view online from today and will air on TV for the first time on Saturday November 6, during the Jonathan Ross Show.

This year, Very was the first to launch its TV advert – getting ahead of the game by airing it 85 days before the big day on October 1.

Like many retailers, the brand went with a theme of getting started early and making this the best Christmas yet.

This week also saw the launch of Disney’s Christmas advert, a three minute animation titled “From Our Family to Yours“.
