BILLIONS of Google users could be putting themselves at unnecessary risk by leaving their accounts logged into disused devices.
Whether it be a shared computer or an old smartphone, Google will tell you where you’re going wrong.

It’ll also reveal other security lapses where your account is logged in.
For example, it could say your account is being used on a device where no lock screen is detected.
Of course, a screen lock is essential to prevent anyone from accessing your Gmail account and other private stuff should they get hold of your iPhone or Android handset.
The Google Security Check-up will also show things like computers and devices that you’re logged into but not used for a while.
It’s good practice to revoke access to be on the safe side.
The site will give you important recommendations to fix any of the security issues detected.
In some cases, the tool allows you to withdraw rights instantly, which is super handy if you no longer have that particular gadget.
But in other cases you’ll need to sort it out manually yourself.

To see where your Google Account is logged in, start by logging in.
Select Security from the menu.
The top will say “you have security recommendations” if there is anything to see.
