The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will see pubs stay open for an extra two hours, but what about our favourite shops?

Are shops open on Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday?
Morrisons
Morrisons will be operating their normal store hours.
They have a number of promotions including a Clarence the Corgi cake for £6, a £4 Elizabeth Sponge cake and Pimm’s for half price.
Sainsbury’s
Over the bank holiday weekend in June, 2022, the vast majority of Sainsbury’s supermarkets across England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be open between 7am and 8pm.
However, they told The Sun to check online as opening hours do vary between stores.
John Lewis & Waitrose
On Thursday June 2 and Friday June 3, 2022, the majority of Waitrose & Partners shops will be open from 8am to 6pm and most John Lewis shops will be open from 10am until 8pm.
On that weekend, most Waitrose and John Lewis stores will trade normal hours, but it is advised to check online for your local branch.
Waitrose have a whole page of food and drink offers for the Jubilee weekend, including 2 for £7.50 on BBQ items and 3 for £7 on summer savoury snacks.

Aldi
Aldi said that normal opening hours will operate at Aldi’s more than 960 stores.
Customers should check the opening time of their local branch as it may vary.
Aldi are running a variety of offers to celebrate the bank holiday weekend, including heavy discounts on wines and beers.
Asda
Most stores will be open with only slightly reduced hours over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.
Asda told The Sun that customers should check on their store locator to see if their local branch is open.
Tesco
Tesco said the majority of their stores will open at normal time but close at 8pm.
Most Tesco stores in London will open at normal times but close at 10pm.
The majority of Tesco Express stores will have normal opening hours.
Customers can find specific information on their local store opening hours on Tesco’s store locator.
M&S
M&S have said that all of their stores will be open, but a small handful may have slightly amended hours, so customers should use the store locator page to check.
While their stores will remain open across the bumper weekend, all M&S store, distribution centre & customer service colleagues have been given an additional day of holiday to use across any of the four days – as announced back in March, 2022.
M&S told The Sun that they have an extensive range of Jubilee products available both in-store and on their website.
Lidl and Iceland
Lidl and Iceland have not yet responded to The Sun.
Check their store locator pages online to find out if your local store will be open.
Ikea
Store opening times vary so use IKEA’s store locator page to check the opening times for your local branch.
From May 30 to June 5, 2022, IKEA Family members in the UK can get £10 off a £100 shop in-store.
There are also a variety of IKEA Family offers online over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.
Wilko
Wilko said stores will be trading normal hours over the Jubilee weekend.
However, there are some exceptions to this, with shopping centres closing early on Thursday and Friday.
They advise that you check the website before travelling to your local store.
Wilko have several promotions for the Jubilee including garden party crockery, bunting and even jubilee dog toys.
B&Q
If your home is in need of some TLC then you’re in luck.
Over the bank holiday weekend, B&Q are running a promotion which will give you 25% off selected BBQs, garden furniture and outdoor play products.
The stores will be opening as normal on June 2 and June 3, 2022, but closing at 8pm.
Home Bargains
Home Bargains said that customers should check their website for the Jubilee opening hours of their local Home Bargains store.
They can do this using Home Bargain’s store locator which provides up-to-date information.
Opening times differ depending on the branch, but many stores will be operating with reduced hours over the bank holiday.
