ANDROID owners are set to receive an exciting free update that will ensure sports fans will never miss a score again.
Google is readying a new widget which is expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks and it’s “perfect timing” for sports enthusiasts.
A widget is an app or gadget that enables a user to access a service or perform a function.
The widget will show the teams someone follows and their upcoming, live and past matches.
Games will appear in cards with the date/time, score, and league. A tap opens the full Knowledge Graph card in Google Search.
There’s a one – or two-column user interface, with the latter prominently showcasing a game at the top.

The widget can also be resized to take up your entire home screen, according to 9to5google.com.
Users can also refresh the widget and choose from a view of “your games” or “trending games”.
And although it can be customised it will also display recommended games, teams and leagues based on search activity.
The design uses “dynamic colour” and is similar to the widget for stocks.
