ALDI’S sell-out winter gadget has been reduced in price and it could save you money on your energy bills. 

The Silentnight Comfort Control blanket was £20 but has been slashed in stores by 15% so you can nab it for just £16.99.

The energy-saving gadget causes a frenzy each time it returns to shops, it recently hit shelves in Aldi on January 14.

The single size is currently priced at £16.99, it’s £24.99 for a king size and £19.99 for a double.

The gadget costs just 1p an hour to run as it only uses 40W of energy.

This means they can be a great alternative to putting the heating on as they’re much cheaper to run.

Recent figures from CheckaTrade shows that the average cost of running your heating per hour is 7p per kilowatt-hour.

This means that if you have a 24 kW boiler, it might cost you £1.68 an hour. 

It means that if you have your heating on overnight for eight hours, it could cost you £13.44.

While Aldi’s heated blanket costs just 8p to run for eight hours.

The deal was shared on the HotUKDeals website.

One shopper said: “These silent night ones are excellent and with a three-year warranty makes them a bargain!”

Another said: “Bought the king size for £40 off Amazon just two weeks ago… Should’ve waited.”

“One of life’s little luxuries. If you’ve not used one, you’re missing out!” claimed someone else. 

You’ll be able to buy the heated blanket in-store but they won’t be available online.

You can find your nearest Aldi using the store locator tool on the chain’s website.

As always it is good to shop around the make sure you are getting the cheapest deal.

If you don’t manage to get your hands on this one, check out the Dreamland Deluxe Large heated throw which has been reduced by 57% from £69 to £30 in select Sainsbury’s stores

Debenhams is also selling a Fineway electric heated throw blanket which shoppers say costs only a penny hour to run.

It has been reduced in price from £79.99 to £29.99.

Tips for keeping warm this winter

There are plenty of other affordable ways you can stay warm this winter.

Get yourself a hot water bottle, you can them in lots of different shapes and sizes.

They are always great for a cost-free way of keeping warm.

Before you get this heated throw also worth checking if you are eligible for free electric blankets.

Major energy firms have been giving away free electric blankets and money-saving gadgets as part of customer support packages.

Don’t forget about preventative measures, draught-proof your home and seal your windows to stop cold air from coming in.

Prices for draught excludes start from a fiver in most stores but a thick blanket rolled up next to a draughty door will work just as well.

Seal up any draughty windows with easy-to-use draught excluders, prices for them start at £1.99 and they could save up to £70 on your energy bills.

Loft insulation is also very important as it can stop heat escaping, therefore slashing your heating bill.

You can buy insulation from all local builder merchants or retailers such as B&Q and Wickes.
