CHRISTMAS is fast approaching and supermarkets are pulling out all the stops to entice shoppers this season.

The supermarket giant has announced it will be drastically reducing the price of its fan favourite mince pies for a limited period.

From today, December 4, shoppers will be able to nab the Holly Lane deep-filled mince pies for just 55p, which works out as 9p per pie.

The six-pack of pies originally cost £1.09 but the price has been slashed in half.

The delicate shortcrust pasty cases are filled with classic mincemeat and finished with a light sugar dusting.

But shoppers will only be able to nab the festive deal for a week.

Shoppers have been sharing their thoughts on Aldi’s mince pie collection on Facebook with many adding the pies were great value for money.

One user said: “Best ones I’ve had this year and they are cheap expected to be hard pastry no filling but these are full with mincemeat and very tasty pastry.”

“Delicious” claimed another.

A third said: “I’m hooked on these they’re lovely.”

“Couldn’t believe how nice considering the price,” argued someone else.

Aldi has added any shopper buying the festive treats will be in with a chance to win one of their Golden Christmas prizes.

The Golden Christmas pieces include a year’s worth of shopping valued at £5,200, to gift cards ranging in value anywhere from £20-£1,000.

The 9p mince pie is available in-store and online but only as long as stock lasts.

Despite soaring inflation, the deal is significantly cheaper than it was last year with the supermarket selling a box of mince pies for £1.09 which worked out to be 18p per pie.

Aldi also has tons of other mince pies on offer with lots of twists on classic flavours.

The Frangipane mince pies are going for £2.49, there are also Millionaire Crumble mince pies and Caramalised apple crumble mince pies for the same price.

You can also get puff pastry mince pies for £1.99 and Jamaican Rum mince pie tarts for £2.49.

Comparatively, you won’t be able to get the 9p mince pie deal in other supermarkets.

In Lidl prices for a pack of 12 mince pies start at £2.15, which is about 18p per pie.

In Asda you can get a pack of six mince pies for £1.09, that’s 18p per pie.

Tesco has a deal on a pack of six mince pies which are £1.50 with a Clubcard, and £3 without, which is 25p per pie.
