MCDONALD’S is offering NHS staff a 20% discount for the rest of the year to thank them for their work during the pandemic.

The fast food chain will give health service workers money off the entire menu, so they can enjoy their favourite McDonald’s food at a lower price.

The deal will start on July 19 – or ‘Freedom Day’ – to thank frontline workers for their actions during the pandemic.

McDonald’s said the offer is a “small token of thanks to the National Health Service workers for their tireless efforts over the last 15 months, and beyond”.

Health service employees can use the discount once a week for the rest of the year, and it is applicable across all menu items.

For example, a medium Big Mac meal with a drink usually costs around £4.79, but with the discount it would be reduced to £3.83.

NHS workers have to download the My McDonald’s app to access their discount.

You can download the app for free on the App Store or Google Play.

The offer will automatically be applied to accounts that are registered with an NHS email address.

If you’ve already signed up with your personal email address, it is possible to change this in the settings section of the app.

When you order using the app, you can either choose to collect your food from your nearest store or opt for a home delivery.

If you decide to get your meal delivered, you may have to pay an additional fee.

You can find your nearest McDonald’s branch using the burger chain’s online store locator.
