A MUCH-LOVED hair salon that rivals its local Toni & Guy has shut after 28 years – but all is not lost for its upset patrons.
Lisa Milner Hair in Wolverhampton’s city centre has shut its doors in order to open next year at a bigger property in the suburbs.

The hairdressers has occupied its central Darling Street spot for over 28 years, but change was on the cards for its owner Lisa Milner.
But for any upset customers, fear not – the salon will not be moving too far and should be back in business in January.
Its new home will be the top corner spot on 157 Trysull Road, which comes with 1,359 sq ft of space, a reception area, open-plan salon and private off-road parking.
Lisa will be taking over the property from another hugely popular salon Nicolas Hair Design – a family-run business that has lasted over 50 years.

“We are very proud to be relocating our established salon to Trysull Road,” Lisa told the Express and Star.
“We have enormous respect for both Nicholas and his wife June. They ran their hugely successful and popular Nicholas Hair Design for over 50 years.
“We are due to open our new salon in January after extensive renovations.”
However, Lisa’s decision to move to the suburbs from the city centre follows an alarming trend of businesses evacuating the high street in favour of lower rents as other costs spiral.

Retailers have been feeling the pinch since the pandemic as customers cut back on spending due to soaring inflation.
The increasing shift to shopping online has led to lower footfall in city centres, which is also taking a distressing toll on high street shops.
It comes as legendary footwear chain Clarks announced it is closing yet another store in a further blow to UK’s high streets.
Clarks also announced that it’ll pull down the shutters in High Street Inverness before the end of this month.
Meanwhile, a major car shop chain is closing its only Scottish borders branch as a budget supermarket looks set to move in.
The beloved Halfords in Galashiels will shut this month, while Farmfoods plans to relocate to the space.
