The discount was discovered by a savvy shopper who shared it on a Facebook group.

They posted a picture of two bottles, which they got for less than a quid, and described it as “lovely”.

Reacting to the post, one excited fan said: “I love Ed Sheeran‘s sauce.”

Other shoppers have complained that the same sauce is selling for £3 at Asda, Iceland and Sainsbury’s.

The Shape of You singer, 33, has come up with a spicy range called Tingly Ted’s, based on his childhood nickname — Teddy.

The sauce comes in medium and hot levels – depending on your tolerance.

The website describes it as “spicy enough to tingle your tongue, but not spicy enough to reach out for milk”.

The ingredients listed include red jalapeno peppers mixed with spices and herbs combined with fresh lemon notes and smoky flavour.

Ed said of Tingly Ted’s: “There isn’t anything they don’t go with — except bananas.

“I love sauces, that’s no secret.

“But the older I’ve got, the more I love and need spice with every single meal.

“I travel a lot, so having a bottle in my suitcase wherever I go that can spice up any and every meal seemed like a good idea.

“I knew I didn’t want to do a watery hot sauce, as they usually all get relegated to the same shelf of other random hot sauces.

“I wanted to make a sauce that took the same pride of place as ketchup.”

This isn’t the first time the pop star made a surprising career move as he seemed to have swapped stadium gigs for a job in Starbucks.
