A MAN who goes to McDonald’s all the time says an easy Monopoly move got him £100 free cash.

Paul Donaldson took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to remind people to scan their McDonald’s Monopoly stickers.

Alongside a picture of his £100 win, Paul said: “Remember to check your codes on McDonald’s monopoly tickets.

“Yes I’m aware the food is rubbish, fattening and unhealthy, but I’m going for the full dad bod look for the winter to keep me warm and I’m lazy.

“Happy scanning people.”

And people were quick to comment on the social media post with many not realising there are codes on the stickers.

One commented: “I’ve been binning them.”

Another asked: “How do you do it?”

A third said: “We won £100 last time, couldn’t believe it!”

McDonald’s Monopoly returned on September 6 to the delight of fast food fans.

Among the top prizes this year is £100,000 in cash for four winners and there will be 2,000 “gold cards”, which gives you a free Maccies meal a week for a year.

The game usually lasts for around six weeks.

It comes after McDonald’s introduced a new game for customers earlier this year.

Winning Sips was introduced in March, seeing fans in with a chance of winning money or number of items after buying a medium or large soft drink.

How does McDonald’s Monopoly work?

Players who take part in Monopoly can collect stickers from their food packaging that represent train stations or colour co-ordinated road names – much like the classic game.

But not all menu items are worth the same amount, and this determines how you redeem a prize.

For example, instant win food prizes can be redeemed at any McDonald’s branch by handing the token over at the counter when you order.

You’ll need to hand the game pieces over to a member of staff when you collect your meal.

To find your nearest store, just search using the store locator on McDonald’s website.

But if you’ve got a winning token or code, you may need to provide some of your personal details to be able to redeem it, such as your date of birth, email address and phone number.

You will then be asked to choose how you want to receive your winnings, which will be either via email or delivery.

There’s also a chance you’ll get an app play code to collect. This will be clear when you peel off the sticker.

You’ll need to have the app to enter the code and see if you’ve won a prize.

It’s free to download the app either from the Google Android or iPhone app stores.
