MCDONALD’S is releasing a Chicken Big Mac and it’s said to be one of the most requested menu items to ever hit the UK.

But those keen to taste the new menu addition will need to move quickly because it won’t be around for long – it’s a limited edition.

The Chicken Big Mac is arriving to UK stores soon by popular demand

This year already saw the fast-food chain roll out the vegan McPlant burger across all its UK restaurants.

The vegan alternative to a cheeseburger is said to be staying for good – a move that has been welcomed by non-meat eaters.

But it’s not the only Maccies menu change afoot, and the firm has now announced a new chicken burger which puts a twist on the infamous Big Mac.

What is the Chicken Big Mac?

Put simply, the Chicken Big Mac is a copycat of the original Big Mac but replaces beef patties with chicken burgers.

That means it has the triple layer bun, two crispy chicken patties and, of course, all the other bits that create the legendary burger – cheese, lettuce, pickles, and the secret Big Mac sauce.

You’ll be able to pick up one of the burgers on its own for £4.09, or £5.59 as part of a meal, which includes chips and a drink.

When is it being released in the UK?

The fun twist on the classic burger is set to hit the UK next month – but only in participating stores.

Pop February 2 in your diary as the official launch date for the new burger, which will only be available until March 15.

That means burger fans will have just over a month to indulge in the new item.

And that’s not all McDonald’s is launching on February 2.

Fans will be pleased to hear that the popular double Big Mac is making a return, along with mozzarella dippers, the Chicken Legend and the Galaxy McFlurry.

How to find your local McDonald’s?

To find your closest McDonald’s branch on the big day, you can use the chain’s handy postcode checker tool which highlights the fast-food chain nearest to you.

It’s best to give your branch a call to find out whether the item will be available to avoid any disappointment as it won’t be on the menu everywhere.

But with 1,300 branches spread across the UK, you’re likely to have a couple of Maccies options near you.

How to order McDonald’s and how much does it cost?

If you want the fast-food treat in the comfort of your own home, you have a couple of options to choose from.

For a while, Uber Eats and Just Eat have been delivering Maccies straight to your door.

You have to create an account which is free in both cases, and downloading either app from Google’s play store or Apple’s app store is free for both android and Apple users.

Last year, the My McDonald’s app extended its order options by providing home delivery alongside its previously existing pick-up option.

But whether you can get McDonald’s delivered to you is depends on your area being covered. Again, you can use the Maccies tool to find out.

All three home-delivery choices come with delivery fees that vary according to your location – so make sure you check before ordering.

When testing the prices out, The Sun noticed that £3.99 was the recurring price for most home-delivery routes.

In some cases, like when orders are over £7, the apps can offer cheaper delivery options that start at 0.99p – but these offers are always subject to change, so it’s important you check before making your purchase.

The Chicken Big Mac will only be available after 10:30am when the breakfast menu finishes for the day – we explain McDonald’s breakfast serving times in more detail.

Maccies recently axed two popular menu items – find out if it was one of your favourites.
