BARGAIN hunters will search high and low for the best deals – but you might have been doing your B&M shopping all wrong if you’ve skipped some crucial steps.

B&M is known for its already low prices, from toys to homeware and more – but did you know there’s ways to slash even more from your bill?

Sometimes it takes being savvy when you plan your visits, or making sure your phone gets alerts of all the latest bargains.

The store will often host mega sales, but some savvy shoppers have worked out how to find all the “secret” discounts too.

We reveal how you can bag all the best bargains at B&M. Take a look.

When should I shop?

Discounts and reductions can’t really be pinpointed to one day of the week as B&M has confirmed in the past that different products will be marked down in price every day.

But some shoppers have speculated on Facebook forums and more as to when you should focus your efforts.

Tuesday is thought to be when staff reduce food, pet items and cleaning products, but on Thursdays and Saturdays the store sometimes tries to flog old stock and seasonal items at lower prices.

B&M says it stocks its more than 650 shops with new items everyday too.

So if you’re looking for a bargain dupe or simply other low cost goodies, it doesn’t hurt to try your chances throughout the week.

The retailer told us that often it will make a deal with a supplier and have the item in store the very next day, so new bargains are always waiting to be snapped up.

More importantly though, it’s all about timing.

Stock can be subject to availability so once staff start reducing items from 7.30am, whatever day of the week it may be, you’ll want to be first in line.

Slashed prices on B&M’s already low-cost stock means products will fly off the shelves, and typically when it’s reduced it means once it’s gone, it’s gone.

You can find out when your nearest store opens using B&M’s online shop finder tool.

How should I shop?

B&M shoppers swear by one shopping hack that means they can ALWAYS find reduced items.

They claim to have saved hundreds of pounds by using the store’s free barcode scanner.

It’s a free app you can download onto your phone that lets you see if the item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop shelf – it means shoppers can find “hidden” bargains around the store.

On a Facebook forum dedicated to the app, B&M scanner and Other Bargains, users shared their hauls from 10p finds to £100 spends slashed to half price.

But what they can scan will differ from day to day, and takes a little luck.

One said: “It’s patience and depends on stock so all you can do is wait.”

Another said: “Anything that’s reduced, I scan – and often it’s reduced even more.”

You have to remember that it’s only a bargain if you were planning on buying it anyway – the app can be useful to check the item you’ve already picked up is cheaper, but you might go over budget if you buy simply BECAUSE it’s reduced.

Sadly you can’t shop online at B&M, but its online catalog is a good way to scope out bargains ahead of time too.

You can also sign up to B&M’s newsletter, which will tell you about its latest offers before you head to the shop.

You can also use online deal finder tools from the likes of Hotukdeals or Latestdeals, by searching “B&M” in their search engines and have a scroll through all the bargains that filter through.

Plus, have a shop around.

B&M is known for its low prices but you might find an even better deal at similar discount rivals like Home Bargains or Aldi.

On the same wavelength, one superfan has revealed top tips to avoid overspending at B&M, and how to get items cheaper elsewhere.

While a B&M worker has revealed what customers don’t see when the store is closed as well – and in their words: it’s utter chaos.

But with the tips, another B&M shopper revealed a huge £182 sale haul they got for only £64.
