Barlocco, 25 acres in size, is described as ideal for anglers, bird spotters, and water sports fans.

Access to the private island is via boat, or foot or tractor at low tide.

There is also a pebble beach where a boat can be anchored or beached.

It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, with perennial flax, rock sea lavender and fragrant orchid plants.

Scotland’s Fleet Bay, near Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway, is also home to some large seabird colonies.
