THE NEW year is bringing with it some major technological advancements, including smart glasses with an array of features that will blow your mind.

It’s one thing to make sure your eyeglasses look cool, but in 2022 you might opt for a pair that has Bluetooth audio, cameras, and even a GPS system.

Facebook’s Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses were released earlier this year, but many found them to be disappointing.

However, other AR glasses have seemingly come a long way in the few months since Facebook’s were launched.

While there are some kinks to work out before these smart glasses become an everyday thing — one of the biggest issues being that you can’t get them fitted for a prescription at your optician’s office — they are still exciting to think about

Here are some augmented reality (AR) smart glasses models guaranteed to make a splash in 2022.

Lenovo’s ThinkReality A3 smart glasses

Lenovo’s AR glasses, which feature a half-lens, half-camera design, are meant to “advance productivity,” according to the tech giant’s website.

The versatile glasses are portable, comfortable, and can help you “create a customized, expanded personal workspace anywhere, from a virtual monitor at home, to guided schematics on the factory floor.”

You can hook these glasses up to your Windows PCs, as well as Android phone, and they act as both your monitor screen and headphones, giving you privacy in public spaces.

Spectacle’s by Snap

Snap’s wireless Spectacles are a bit more play than work but still come with a wide variety of fun features.

The 134g glasses come equipped with a touchpad, 2000 Nits brightness, 3D waveguide displays, 2 RGB cameras, and 4 microphones.

They are one of few on the market that can be used outdoors and are able to project 3D effects onto real-world environments, which you can share with others straight from the glasses.

NReal Light smart glasses

NReal’s Light glasses look the most “normal” out of the bunch, but still showcase their AR nature via the lenses, which are half-clear, half-processed tech cameras.

And these cameras can do some cool things like track location and project 3D images onto the real world.

The Nreal Light’s visual effects, which have been compared to Microsoft HoloLens, seem to project holographic effects over everything to make you feel like you are truly in the Metaverse.

Other AR glasses that are primed to be extremely popular if and when they hit the market include Apple’s, and Samsung’s.
