XBOX players can get their hands on an “absolute knockout” role-player game that is currently landing in baskets for £3.95.
From the creators of Elden Ring and Pac-Man, Scarlet Nexus is set in a distant future where a humans gain extra-sensory powers but deranged mutants with a hunger for brains emerge.
The Bandai Namco studio title – which is compatible with Xbox One, PS4 and PS5 – is an anime-style game that later inspired a TV adaption series under the same name.
Scarlet Nexus, released in 2021, is a dedicated single-player experience.
So, tough luck if you’re after a new co-op game.

“For an anime-style hack & slash to get the AAA style treatment is a rare treat and this absolute knockout hit all the right spots for me.
“Set in a world always at war with an mysterious entity called the Others, you choose one of two different characters at the beginning and see their unique story as the intricate plot of the world unfolds.

Another wrote: “For me this was one of the best games I’ve ever played, the story is very engaging, I personally found the gameplay fun, there are many types of enemies even though they are very similar.
“I wasn’t a fan of anime games but this one really impressed me, so I think it’s worth trying.”
A third added that it is an “Okay game in most regards but ultimately quite forgettable.
“It’s still worth playing if you can get it for cheap and have nothing else. But I had grown quite tired of it near the end.
“The main thing it had going was a pretty good gameplay loop. But the story and characters weren’t doing it for me.”
